Set in the insular world of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, TWO LOVERS is a classic romantic drama, with Joaquin Phoenix giving a raw and vulnerable performance as Leonard, a charismatic but troubled young man who moves back into his childhood home following a recent heartbreak. While recovering under the watchful eye of his parents (Isabella Rossellini and Moni Monoshov), Leonard meets two women in quick succession: Michelle (Gwyneth Paltrow), a mysterious and beautiful neighbor who is exotic and out-of-place in Leonard's staid world, and Sandra, the lovely and caring daughter of a businessman who is buying out his family's dry-cleaning business. Leonard becomes deeply infatuated by Michelle, who seems poised to fall for him, but is having a self-destructive affair with a married man. At the same time, mounting pressure from his family pushes him towards committing to Sandra. Leonard is forced to make an impossible decision – between the impetuousness of desire and the comfort of love – or risk falling back into the darkness that nearly killed him.

In “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” two years have passed since Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and the Autobots saved the human race from the invading Decepticons.  Now he's preparing for the biggest challenge of his life: leaving home for college.  Despite his extreme heroics, the battle of Mission City has become an urban legend believed only by conspiracy theorists.  Sam is still an average teenager with everyday anxieties and excitement about heading off into adulthood, separating from his parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White) for the first time, and vowing to be faithful to girlfriend Mikaela (Megan Fox).  Of course, he also has to explain his departure to his guardian robot, Bumblebee.

The Proposal - Movie Review

As romantic comedies go, The Proposal is one of the better ones but I have come to expect no less from Sandra Bullock. Sure, The Proposal is formulaic and predictable but Bullock takes you from her hard-edged, invulnerable, powerful professional woman to someone full of fear, insecurity and a soft gooey center in complete believability.

Movie Review: The Hangover

Comedies and horror films. It's said that these are the two most difficult genres to work in, as it takes as much effort to scare someone with a film as much as it takes to make someone laugh with a film. So when a great comedy comes along, it really shines. That great comedy is The Hangover.

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian Review

Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian comes packed with plenty of laughs, maybe even a good amount of heart, but not much of a plot.

The movie begins with some hopes that this won't be the same old set of laughs we got in the first Night at the Museum movie. Ben Stiller's Larry Daly has been upgraded from night watchman to the executive of a company whose inventions are, conveniently, all related to the plot of the first film (i.e., a glow-in-the-dark flashlight and giant bone). But when Daly finds out all his old friends at the NYC Museum of Natural History will be going into "deep storage" in Washington D.C.'s Smithsonian archives, it's of course up to him to save them. The next logical move is for Daly to find a way to keep them at the museum.
